The Minnesota Affiliate of the ACNM is pleased to announce the winners of the student scholarship to attend the 59th ACNM Annual Meeting & Exposition, Amy Ntoburi and Christy Anderson!
Amy is earning her post-graduate certificate in nurse-midwifery at the University of Minnesota. She plans to graduate in May 2014. She currently works as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Upon graduation, she plans to join the nurse-midwifery service at Olmsted Medical Center.
Christy is a full time CNEP student attending Frontier Nursing University and plans to graduate in January 2015. She currently works as a labor and delivery, postpartum, and charge nurse at St. Francis Regional Medical Center (SFRMC). Upon graduation, she plans to work in a hospital-based midwifery practice.
Amy and Christy were chosen after they each submitted an application essay describing why they were the best candidates for the scholarship and their future plans in midwifery. In addition, they submitted two letters of recommendation from current affiliate members.
Each will be presented with $800 from the affiliate to help pay for registration and meeting-related expenses. They will be asked to discuss their experiences at an affiliate meeting later in the year.
